Bourn Theatre Arts (BTA) is based in Selby and the surrounding villages, offering a variety of performing arts classes for children, young people and adults.

Miss Rebecca (Principal)

Miss Rebecca is the creator and principal of BTA, with a huge passion for teaching students of all ages.

After moving to Yorkshire 8 years ago, Miss Rebecca worked as a freelance performing arts teacher before starting her own creative platform.

From just one class a week in Hambleton, BTA has gone from strength to strength, as the business has grown and new ideas have been developed.

One of BTA’s core values is making theatre, music and dance accessible to everyone. When she’s not teaching classes, Miss Rebecca works with local schools to help deliver performing arts programs and individual music tuition.

“It is very rewarding to see students grow in confidence, learn new skills and achieve their goals, knowing you helped them get there. It is a privilege to be a teacher, not to be taken for granted.”

From admin and social media, to prop design and show choreography, Miss Hannah plays a key role in the smooth running of BTA, alongside her work as a professional floral designer.

Although Miss Hannah works mostly behind the scenes, you may see her observing classes or helping Miss Rebecca at our summer and winter showcases.
