Bourn Theatre Arts Terms and Conditions

GENERAL

  1. All new students under 16 years of age must have a completed consent form signed by a parent / guardian before taking part in any classes or activities associated with Bourn Theatre Arts.
  2. All children’s class fees must be paid half-termly via bank transfer or cheque.
  3. All ‘Back In Time To Dance’ sessions will be paid for in line with the agreement set out prior to any sessions taking place.
  4. All Adult ballet and Barre fitness classes can be paid for on a weekly basis.
  5. Should your child/children no longer wish to take part in a class, a half-term’s notice in writing must be given before payments are terminated.
  6. Parents/Guardians are responsible for setting up, adjusting and cancelling all payments made to Bourn Theatre Arts.
  7. No payment allowances can be made for absence or personal holidays from any classes.
  8. In the event of a child/children’s fees not being paid by the first week of a new half-term, a reminder will be sent requesting payment.
  9. Failure to pay any outstanding fees will result in Bourn Theatre Arts reserving the right to terminate this agreement with immediate effect, and the class participant/s concerned shall not be allowed to attend classes from the date of termination until payment has been made.
  10. Children’s Class fees will increase as class times extend due to your child’s age.
  11. Suitable clothing and footwear must be worn in all Bourn Theatre Arts classes and activities.
  12. Parents/Guardians of children’s classes are not permitted to observe any classes unless previously organised by the teacher.
  13. Unless specifically stated in writing that you or your child/children do not wish to be part of any photographs or filming, Bourn Theatre Arts reserves the right to use these images/video for:
  • Teaching purposes
  • Marketing
  • Advertising
  • Social media.

Safeguarding is in place and inappropriate use of any such photographs or filming will not be tolerated.

HEALTH & SAFETY

  1. Bourn Theatre Arts’ priority will always be for student’s and participant’s safety. However, musical theatre and dance are both physical activities, and as such there is a potential risk to those taking part. Bourn Theatre Arts cannot except liability for any injury sustained during a class or any time other whilst on the location. All students and participants attend Bourn Theatre Arts classes and activities at their own risk.
  2. All children under 16 years of age will not be permitted to leave the class location until a parent/guardian can be seen, and they have signed out in the register.
  3. Parents/guardians are solely responsible for their children and siblings in communal areas, such as the waiting areas, toilets and corridors when the child is not in a class.
  4. Bourn Theatre Arts is not responsible for any injury incurred due to failure to supervise the child/children appropriately in your care whilst on location.
  5. All class student/participants must inform the teacher of any existing or new injury before taking part in any class or activities.
  6. Jewellery, wrist watches and earrings are not allowed to be worn in class. This is for the health and safety of all students. Failure to do so will result in the teacher asking them to remove such items before taking part in any class activity.

INJURY AND ILLNESS

  1. Please report any injury or illness before the class time begins; but if classes are already in progress please leave a message for Bourn Theatre Arts.
  2. Parents/guardians must put all injuries or illness for any child under 16 years of age in writing for the teacher, even if it is a minor matter.
  3. In order to ensure the welbeing of all Bourn Theatre Arts’ students and participants attending a class, if you or your child/children are unwell and have vomited or suffered from diarrhoea, class attendance will not be permitted for a minimum of 48 hours. In this instance no refund will be given.
  4. If a prescribed medication (for example an inhaler, epipen etc.) is required by the class participant, please advise Bourn Theatre Arts in writing and arrange a suitable time to discuss the medication in advance of attending classes. Any changes to the medication need to be communicated in writing to Bourn Theatre Arts promptly and in any event before the next class that is to be attended by the student.

*Children are not allowed to bring non-prescribed medication of any kind with them on to the premises.

DBS CERTIFICATION

  1. All teachers hold current DBS certificates. Musical theatre and dance are physical activities which may involve contact between teacher and students and participants, for example corrections to aid safe practice. There will be times where student to student partner contact will also take place. All contact will however be kept to a minimum and used only with prior consent of the students.

BEHAVIOUR

1. All students and participants will be expected to behave in a polite and respectful manner. Any instances of rudeness, bad behaviour or bullying may result in the student/participant being asked to leave. Bourn Theatre Arts reserves the right, at its discretion, to refuse admission to any student or participant on grounds of bad behaviour. In this instance no refund will be given.

COVID-19

  1. Face masks/shields must be worn by all adults and children over 12 years of age, unless there is a medical reason for exception (please provide proof of this).
  2. Hand sanitising stations must be used regularly and appropriately.
  3. Students and participants must observe the clearly marked floor spaces for social distancing between class participants.
  4. Please do not attend a Bourn Theatre Arts class or activity if you have the following symptoms:
  • A high temperature 
  • A cough
  • A loss or change in sense of smell or taste.

5. Please do not attend a Bourn Theatre Arts class or activity if you have been in contact with someone who has been tested positive for Coronavirus in the last 14  days, or someone who is waiting for results of a covid test.
